::JASON HEWITT::

Pursue your dreams. I have always loved music and listen to quite a variety of it. I picked up my first guitar at age 17 and taught myself to play by learning tab. It has not been an easy road to get here and I don't consider myself a great musician.....yet. My point to you is that it is possible. Dreams become reality when you have the faith to act upon them; believe in the unbelievable. I look at my life and still can't believe what Christ has done with the angry young man that I once was. I have so many answered prayers that I hope to share with you through time and many prayers answered by God as "No" I don't know if you have ever been to church or met a complete stranger. For me I have had several experiences where people have prayed over me and told me that I have this great gift inside. I have had several experiences where people known & unknown have said "Hey Jason God told me to tell you....." Crazy stuff. So for years now I have been wondering and asking what do you want me to do Lord. What I have learned is that I have the gift of faith and the gift of music. In the past year and a half I have committed to God that I would make a serious effort to do music for his glory. People I tell you in all honesty that I have tried for 15 years to write and play music. Nothing has ever worked until I made that commitment. The only catch for you though is that I committed to only write music based on biblical themes. My hope is to reach just one person, maybe an angry young man, through music that will lead them to the cross.

So there are many stories that led to this moment but lets start here.

Sin Of A Nation.

So on faith my dear wife and family moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania for my promotion at work. That was probably one of the hardest things for both of us to decide.

My friend Brad and I always liked to talk about how Axl Rose used to sing in choir and that was how he learned to sing. Yeah I'm a fan of Guns N' Roses. I really learned to sing from leading worship on three different occasions. With friend Roger in Delaware, Friend Brandon in Pennsylvania, and Soul Harbor here in North Carolina. Almost all of my church experiences have left me a lot better off and a little bitter in some way. I am still trying to figure that out. I started writing these songs and playing them for friend Pat Vahey from the band East Ave. I was hoping that we could start a side project but distance has been a problem. I met Byron and Jeff through our work and we were all talking about how we enjoyed music and we each played. Byron and Jeff told me how they used to play in a band together which I thought was cool. I found out that Jeff lived near me and I said that we should get together and jam sometime. Eventually we did do that and had a few sessions together. During that time I played some of the songs for them to see what they thought. They are both very good at coming up with there parts pretty easily. I decided to make a myspace page and record some of my songs to put out there. I remember asking God what exactly he wanted me to do and told him how I would really like to have a band. I asked what the name should be. I opened up my Bible and turned to Isaiah 59 and the heading said "The Sin of a Nation" I said sounds good to me. Read it though.... for real. After some talking Byron and Jeff committed to be in "the band" One night at practice Jeff and I recorded "The Cure" and I put it out there on myspace. Not real long after that I was contacted by Quickstar Productions who stated they liked the song and was interested in having it on a Christian compilation CD. I ran it by Jeff and Byron and we were all thinking what is the catch. So far it has been a great idea to commit to and after some overnighters at our recording guru Kenny Long's house we were able to submit a decent version to the producers. The song should be coming out soon and we will keep you posted. In all of this process I have to thank my loving family for their patience. For my ears of judgment (Dad, Brandon, Pat V, Rajho, Kevin & Joe) thank you for all of your feedback and utmost honesty. Kenny Long we thank you for your help, absolute ear, and your family's patience. Scott McCausland for agreeing to make this website for me and your creative vision. Of course a shout out to my favorite artist Chris Cornell. More to come....
